I meet Jeff Meyers at Wal-Mart in Elizabethton, TN for a day of wade fishing on the Watauga River. They were running water in the morning on the Watauga so we fished until the water came up and headed over to the South Holston River.

The fishing on the Watauga was slow it was a cold morning and the fish just didnt want the hit much with the cloud cover hanging over us. Jeff missed a really nice Rainbow before the water came up, and that is when we decided to head over the Holston.

We started down low on the S. Holston and Jeff hooked into a nice Rainbow that popped loss. I spotted some big fish sitting in a hole, but we could not get them to eat anything. After lunch we headed up stream were Jeff caught and landed his first fish on a fly rod. At the end of the day Jeff landed four nice Brown and his casting had improved alot. Not a bad day for the first time ever fishing with a fly rod.
