January dry fly fishing on the South Hoston river.  Unreal stuff…. Blake is catching fish on a Sulphur Comparadun . I am catching fish on Stripper tied dry. And Jim was catching fish on a BWO Olive  Cripple.

Stomach pumpings shopwed Balck fly adults size 26-28.  II had tied some strippers without any weight on a size 24 – Tiemco 2488 hook. I put a white ccdc wing on it. The wing was about 1/2 the body length .  Landed one 16″ brown and had a 18+” brown rise to the flyy 3 times. Each time I took it out of his mouth. That is midge fishing.

The Little stripper in black and gold beads still are catching fish well. And would expect them to continue to 12 months a year. They are are such a good replica of a real midge pupae. Have tied some up with a brown glass bead . In  my mind it looks good.  You know how mthat is. We will see.
