Jim and Wayne came over to fish the South Holston River with me for two days. We meet up at the shop around 9am, and we headed to the river. At the first spot that we fished the fishing was a little slow, but we were able to catch fish. It was cloudy, and cooler then the last few days. The fish just didnt want to feed to much, but when the sun popped out we started catching fish right away. We caught some nice fish before lunch, and headed to Webb’s Store to grab a bit to eat. After lunch we headed upstream to fish some running water, and to look for a hatch. Wayne started out in some of the slower water fish dries and droppers to some rising fish. While Jim moved upstream into the runs. Jim started catching fish right away on nymphs in the running water. So I brought Wayne up to the running water, and he started hooking fish right away. As we worked upstream Jim found the hot hole, and was catching fish left and right. Wayne caught several out of the run above Jim, but nothing like Jim was into. It got up later in the day, and the fish started slowing down so we called it a day.

It was a good day on the water, and we caught some pretty Rainbows.
