Mike Devon and his son Mike Jr. come over the mountain from Greenville, SC to fish with me a for a half a day. We met up here at the shop and headed off to the river about 11am. TVA was still slucing 800 cfs so we jumped in the boat and off we went. Mike Sr. was a fly fisherman, but Mike Jr. had never really done any flyfishing. So we started off working on his cast and mending. He picked it very quickly so we headed off down river. It was a warm pretty day and there were a lot of boats and wade fisherman on the water, but it didnt stop the fish from eating. The first fish that Mike Jr. got in the boat was a nice 16-17″ Rainbow that put up on heck of a fight. We netted the Rainbow and took a couple of pictures then off we went Mike Sr. was picking fish up out of the back of the boat, and Mike Jr. was getting hits. We got Mike Jr’s hook set down pat and he started hooking up regularly. We caught fish good all the down the river. At one time I had to dodge boats and wade fisherman at the sametime, and that was the only slow time of the day. As the day went on the Black Flies were all over the water and you could see fish sipping everywhere, and the fish were really feeding on nymphs an midges under the water as well. It was just a great day on the water. We caught a lot of fish landed one very nice Rainbow, and hooked into several really nice fish that we just couldnt keep bottoned. But we did caught alot of nice Browns and Rainbows.

Thanks agian to Mike Sr. and Mike Jr. for a great day of fishing.
